Dr Ben Stephens

Dr Ben Stephens is a local graduate from the Australian National University in Canberra. He completed his obstetrics, gynaecology and fertility training in Canberra, Adelaide and Sydney. He is one of the few fertility specialists who provides obstetric care in the Canberra region. Ben is known for his caring, thorough and calm approach. He believes shared decision making is the key to successful outcomes.

Dr Ben Stephens is a Generalist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a keen interest in infertility. He began his professional career in agriculture in rural New South Wales before commencing medical training at the Australian National University in 2010. Dr Stephens completed his core training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children in Canberra, followed by advanced training in minimally invasive surgery in Adelaide. He completed his obstetric training in Canberra and trained with IVF Australia in Sydney.

Dr. Stephens holds a Masters in Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales and has published academic papers on patient blood management and quality improvement programs. With previous experience in Rural and Regional Australia, he brings a diverse background to his clinical practice and believes in shared decision making to provide holistic care to women and their families. Dr. Stephens takes a supportive, evidence-based approach to patient care. Outside of work he enjoys being outside and exploring the Canberra region and everything it has to offer.
